What is the process to have Wrinkle Treatment in Beverly Hills at Truesdale Facial Plastic Surgery?
1. Prepare for Your Appointment
Call the Office to request an appointment time. Nurse Jess now offers FREE consultations if you’d prefer to have a consultation prior to your treatment.
Do not take aspirin (ASA, Excedrin) or anti-inflammatory medications (Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Excedrin, Naproxen,Anacin,etc) for one week prior. These medications can cause increased bruising and bleeding. Tylenol is fine to take. Ideally do not drink alcohol for one week prior, as it can increase the chance of bruising.
2. Get an Expert Treatment by Nurse Jess, NP
During your appointment, you will share your goals with Nurse Jess such as wrinkle reduction, wrinkle prevention, or facial definition. Nurse Jess will assess your face and provide her professional advice on the best plan forward, including any combination treatments like a filler/wrinkle treatment combination.
Before the treatment, your face will be cleaned and you may be given a topical numbing cream to help the treatment be as comfortable as possible.
Nurse Jess will then strategically inject a precise amount of wrinkle treatment into the appropriate areas of your face to deliver your desired results. Nurse Jess injects into the muscles with a very thin needle, making the treatment almost painless. The procedure typically takes about 15- 20 minutes.
3. Recover, Heal, and Reveal Your Results
Patients may feel a slight burning sensation while the solution is being injected. The most common side-effects are discomfort, swelling, redness, and bruising, but these are temporary and typically mild.
There is no downtime after wrinkle treatment – you can have a normal day after your appointment. However, you may want to take the day off from strenuous exercise, and you should stay in an erect posture and don’t attempt to manipulate the area(s) of the injections for at least 2 hours after your appointment. You should exercise the facial muscles by actively frowning periodically for 4 hours after treatment.
Results can be seen in 1-10 days, and can last up to 9 months depending on the type of wrinkle treatment you receive. With repeated treatments, the results may tend to last longer. Many patients have periodic appointments to keep the results of their treatment looking fresh. What exactly does Botox do?
BOTOX and DYSPORT both weaken the muscle to soften facial lines and wrinkles. They can also be used to lift areas of the face such as the lateral brow, or to decrease a “gummy smile,” so that your upper lip doesn’t disappear as much when you smile. Additionally, BOTOX and DYSPORT can help reduce excessive palm or underarm sweating, as well as treat patients with migraines and TMJ.
What are the side effects of BOTOX and DYSPORT?
Most of the common side effects are minor, such as temporary bruising or swelling. In some cases, the treatment mixture can be too strong or too much is used, resulting in less facial movement than desired or impacting facial muscles not directly treated.
What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are sister molecules. Both work to weaken the muscle, but have slight differences in onset of action and spread, as well as duration of effect. Does Dysport last longer than Botox?

Is 50 units of BOTOX or Dysport a lot?
The amount of units injected depends on each person’s face, their goals, and the areas treated. Depending on musculature, some patients will require more units, while others will require fewer units to achieve similar results. Nurse Jess will determine how many units are necessary to achieve your desired result.
Are BOTOX and DYSPORT good for your face?
BOTOX is good for your face in that it helps soften or eliminate existing wrinkles and helps prevent future wrinkles from developing over time.
