1. Prepare for Your Appointment
Call the Office to request an appointment time.
Try not to take aspirin (ASA, Excedrin) or anti-inflammatory medications (Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Excedrin, Naproxen,Anacin,etc) for one week prior. These medications can cause increased bruising and bleeding. Tylenol is fine to take. Ideally do not drink alcohol for one week prior, as it can increase the chance of bruising.
2. Get an Expert Treatment by Nurse Jess, NP
During your appointment, you will share your goals with Nurse Jess such as wrinkle reduction, wrinkle prevention, or facial definition. Nurse Jess will assess your face and provide her professional advice on the best plan forward, including any combination treatments like a filler/wrinkle treatment combination.
Before the treatment, your face will be cleaned and you may be given a topical numbing cream to help the treatment be as comfortable as possible.
Nurse Jess will then strategically inject a precise amount of wrinkle treatment into the appropriate areas of your face to deliver your desired results. Nurse Jess injects into the muscles with a very thin needle, making the treatment almost painless. The procedure typically takes about 15-20 minutes.
3. Recover, Heal, and Reveal Your Results
Patients may feel a slight burning sensation while the solution is being injected. The most common side-effects are discomfort, swelling, redness, and bruising, but these are temporary and typically mild.
There is no downtime after wrinkle treatment – you can have a normal day after your appointment. However, you may want to take the day off from strenuous exercise, and you should stay in an erect posture and don’t attempt to manipulate the area(s) of the injections for at least 2 hours after your appointment. You should exercise the facial muscles by actively frowning periodically for 4 hours after treatment.
